When we are looking for a job we dress to impress. When we go out for an evening we dress to impress. Women usually pay more attention to detail then men.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But there is more to beauty then cosmetics and clothes. If you are very healthy looking then you are more likely to give a good impression. If you are a good listener, helpful or witty and cheerful, people are more likely to want to be around you. Cosmetics and clothing can definitely help but I suggest starting from the inside out.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1) Get plenty of sleep&lt;/strong&gt;. This is a must. You cannot function properly when you are tired and it will show on your face. Most commonly associated with teenagers who are undergoing severe hormonal changes, adults also suffer from acne flare-ups. For both groups, scientists are demonstrating a direct link between stress and acne.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While reported cases show that 80% of acne sufferers are teenagers, it is also documented that the remaining 20% of acne sufferers are adults. Adults are more likely to suffer from stress related acne than from environmental or hormonal causes, but teenagers dealing with academic demands, athletic rigors, and relationship issues are also susceptible to stress related acne.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It has been understood for some time now that acne is caused when oils secreted by the sebaceous gland beneath the skin combine with dead skin cells, dirt, and bacteria to clog skin pores and cause an infection to develop, providing evidence that environmental factors can contribute to acne. These hormones help to prepare us for our instinctive fight or flight response.&lt;br /&gt;Additionally, it is now understood that as our body reacts to stress, fatty secretions in the sebaceous glands are released. This combination of hormonal influences and fatty secretions-known contributors to acne outbreaks-is sent into action by our own central nervous system, creating stress acne.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is also known that during stressful periods, our bodies immune system is significantly weakened, resulting in slower healing of acne breakouts. The prolonged visible signs of acne can lead to more acne. If you have frizzy hair use a leave-in conditioner and take a deep moisturizing mask with you on holiday. This article examines some of the most widely known - and the reality behind the myths.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. Excessive washing of hair causes hair loss/dryness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Frequency of washing doesn't harm hair. Wash it as often as you like, although the recommendation is three times a week. The right shampoo for your hair type and texture will actually add moisture, body and beauty to your hair.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2. More shampoo = cleaner hair.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Don't waste your shampoo! A dollop of shampoo, about the size of a quarter is usually enough for long hair. Very long hair may take a little more.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. Conditioner helps repair split ends.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: No conditioner can "repair" damaged hair. What it can do is smooth down the cuticle and make hair seem in better condition. A good conditioner can also prevent damage from occurring in the first place.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. Blow-drying produces hair loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Blow-drying can damage, burn or dry hair, which can cause it to fall, but the hair will grow back immediately. This is not permanent hair loss.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. Sleeping with wet hair causes scalp fungus.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Scalp or fungal diseases can't be caught from sleeping with wet scalps. Scalp infections require prior involvement with infected sources such as humans, tainted hair care tools or animals. Scalp fungus (tinea capitis) mainly affects children, whose immune systems make them more susceptible to skin infections.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6. To get your hair to grow, brush 100 strokes each day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Brushing that much can damage the hair cuticle. NOT recommended! Actually, your hair reacts better to a comb than a brush. Brushing it will only lead to split ends and hair breakage.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;7. Sharing combs and brushes can spread scalp diseases.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;TRUE: Lice and other parasites can be transported from scalp to scalp through the sharing of combs, brushes and other hair care tools.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;8. Cutting hair makes it grow faster and/or thicker.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: This common misconception comes from the fact that hair is thicker at the base than it is at the tip, so shorter hair appears thicker at first. Cutting your hair does not affect its normal biologically determined growth rate or overall texture. Thin, limp or fine hair will not ever grow thicker in response to a haircut. Plump up your hair by using volume enhancing hair care products, experimenting with a hair fattening blunt cut or getting a texturizing perm or color treatment.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9. Color treatment causes hair loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Most hair coloring products contain chemicals that can do serious harm to the hair itself if not properly used, but it wont instigate hair loss.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10. Salon products are identical to drugstore products.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Although there are exceptions, salon products generally contain higher quality, more expensive ingredients that are designed to consistently provide more intensive cleansing, moisturizing and conditioning results. The quality ingredients found in salon products are not usually found in drugstore brands. If in doubt - read the labels.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;11. Long sun exposure favors hair loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;FALSE: Your hair acts as a shield against the sun. Hair loss appears at the follicle level and so the sun would have to penetrate at this depth to do any damage.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;12. Diet is related to hair loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;TRUE: it's important to eat right in order to be generally healthy. However, no individual food has been proven to be beneficial or detrimental to hair.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;13. Stress causes hair loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;TRUE: Severe stress (e.g. surgery or a death in the family), can shut down hair production, causing temporary hairloss (alopecia areata). The scalp usually recuperates, though, and hair grows back.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;14. Wearing tight braids, ponytails or buns causes baldness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;TRUE: Traction alopecia is a very real hair loss condition that is quite common amongst older African American women. It results from wearing tight ponytails, cornrows or buns over an extended period of time. Over time, hair breakage or loss as the result of tight, stressed styles, can become permanent. Avoid this potential problem by opting for looser styles that minimize scalp tension.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;15. Smoking causes gray hair.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;TRUE: According to J. G. Mosley of the Leigh Infirmary in Lancashire, England in an article in Science News (January 11, 1997) smokers are four times more likely to have gray hair than non-smokers. But you can find comfort in erasing those age advertisers right from your own kitchen.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What Causes Age Spots&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To protect your skin against excessive sun exposure, your skin makes cells called melanocytes. Melanocytes create the dark brown pigment called melanin. The melanin makes your skin look darker or suntanned.&lt;br /&gt;But sometimes, your typical day in the sun causes an uneven jump in melanocytes. This awkward production creates irregular coloring or pigmentation of the skin.&lt;br /&gt;The resulting solar lentigines, or what most people call liver spots or age spots, can appear brown, black or gray. Age spots pop up on the areas of the skin most readily exposed to the sun, like the chest, back, face and hands.&lt;br /&gt;Even youngsters can get age spots with too much unprotected sun exposure.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How to Avoid Age Spots Completely&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Preventing age spots proves the best way to completely avoid them. After you have read them, return once in awhile for a refresher so that you will keep safety foremost and always in your sunless tanning program.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1. Shaving&lt;/strong&gt; - Avoid shaving right before applying sunless tanning products to avoid irritation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2. Lighten up&lt;/strong&gt; - For areas you want to protect from getting too dark, pre-apply baby oil, gel or lotion to places like your knees and elbows, then use sunless tanner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3. Streaking&lt;/strong&gt; - Getting wet too soon after applying sunless tanning products could result in streaks. So wait after applications, at least two hours or so, before swimming, showering or bathing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4. Orange&lt;/strong&gt; -To avoid orange hands when applying products, cheap, disposable gloves from a dime or wholesale store are great to use. Regardless of glove wearing, thoroughly wash hands and fingernails after application.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;5. Expunge&lt;/strong&gt; - Eliminate dead skin via washing or exfoliating before applying sunless tanning products.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6. Inside / Outside&lt;/strong&gt; - Remember that when you use sunless or self-tanning products, if they list no sunscreen in their ingredients, you will not be protected from harmful UV rays. Several studies have been done on these toothpastes to see if they really can whiten your teeth just while you brush. Studies have shown that they can help a bit, and also that the same results can be achieved with normal toothpastes with a little extra brushing every day. The simple fact is that the &lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;toothpastes doesn't sit on your teeth for long enough to actually bleach any discoloring that is present&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Bleaching Trays&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bleaching trays are usually obtained through a dentist. What happens is that the dentist will take an impression of your teeth, and make a mold. You will then have to wear that mold with bleaching solution in it for a certain amount of time each day. Experts all agree that this is the most effective method however the price is more than most people are willing to pay. Bleaching trays can cost between $300-$2000. If this is a method you are interested in I would recommend talking to your dentist for more information.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Over the Counter&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;There are several brands of over the counter whiteners. The two largest ones that I am familiar with are Crest Whitestrips, and Colgate Night Effects. Both of these products work in a similar way although have completely different application. Crest Whitestrips are small plastic strips, that you rap around the upper and bottom sections of your teeth. The bleaching solution is on one side of the strip, and rests along your teeth while you wear the strips. You must wear the product twice a day for 30 minutes for two weeks.&lt;br /&gt;Colgate Night Effects is a paste, that is "painted" on your teeth before you go to bed, for 14 days as well. I have personally tested out both of these products and have found that most others agree that the &lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Crest Whitestrips are the superior method&lt;/span&gt;. I noticed a much greater level of whitening after using the Whitestrips, and was much more impressed with the ease of application, and the time involved in using them. Whitestrips are simple to use, and can be used anywhere. I've popped them on at work, and no one will even notice that I'm wearing them. As a former psoriasis sufferer I would estimate I tried at least 30 different soaps hoping that would cure my psoriasis. I later discovered I was wrong and my psoriasis was only irritated from soap, but soap was not the cause of it.&lt;br /&gt;If you have any form of a skin problem you may have feared taking a shower or bathing because of the dry, painful itch, and film left by using a commercially produced bar soap. Why is that? What causes the itch left by a bar soap and is there any way to cope?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are some tips to buying a better soap or cleanser that may not irritate your skin:&lt;br /&gt;1. &lt;em&gt;Glycerin&lt;/em&gt; is a good moisturizer. Glycerin is known to moisturize from the inside out, pulling in moisture from the outside environment. It's typically found in better quality, more expensive soaps like a hand made soap or good cleanser. Lower grade, commercially produced soaps usually remove the glycerin and use more cost effective chemicals which are much more destructive to the skin.&lt;br /&gt;2. Avoid any soaps that are granular. &lt;em&gt;Granular soaps&lt;/em&gt; are terribly too abrasive for the skin of acne, psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis sufferers. This abrasive soap may be okay to wash motor oil off your hands but not to scrub the acne-prone skin on your face.&lt;br /&gt;I had acne as a teen and believed I could scrub long enough to remove dead skin cells to let my pores "breathe". It took little time to discover this was only irritating my skin. If you have beautiful, blemish-free skin a granular soap may not be harmful. However, gentle is the key for anyone who has any form of blemish or sensitive condition like psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis.&lt;br /&gt;3. &lt;em&gt;Tea Tree Oil and Eucalyptus&lt;/em&gt; are terrific for cleansing. Tea tree oil is considered to have some of the best natural antiseptic / antifungal properties in the world. Eucalyptus oil has been shown to fight infection-causing bacteria, fungi, and viruses very effectively.&lt;br /&gt;The reason I have found tea tree oil and eucalyptus to be so powerful in helping my psoriasis was because both were natural and complemented my skin. Far too many chemicals are added into many commercial soaps today that do their job of cleaning but strip away the skins natural moisturizers as well.&lt;br /&gt;Although I no longer have psoriasis, I still use a specific blend of aloe, eucalyptus, and tea tree oil in a concentrated cleanser. Email me and I will tell you what it is and where to purchase it. (I don't personally sell it but can tell you where to find it)&lt;br /&gt;4. &lt;em&gt;pH balance&lt;/em&gt; of your skin is critical. Normal skin is naturally acidic with a pH in the range of 4.2 to 5.6. Most traditional soaps considered "mild" have a pH of around 9.5 - 11 which is too alkaline and may cause excessive dryness and irritation. These soaps traditionally remove the natural acid protection and extract the fats from the skin as well.&lt;br /&gt;If you have eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis your skin may be even more alkaline than normal in those affected areas. Using a low-grade commercially produced bar soap, which may be more alkaline, could lead to infection. If you prefer a bar soap try a hand made soap. It will be more expensive but it would be worth it if you saw results, wouldn't it?&lt;br /&gt;Most cleansers may be more gentle because they are made not to disturb your skin's pH level. The skin is designed to protect itself by maintaining a more acidic pH level. Many commercially made soaps may rob the skin of it's natural acidic state, leaving it unprotected.&lt;br /&gt;5. &lt;em&gt;Frequency of washing&lt;/em&gt; - don't overdue it. If you have acne you may have a difficult time with this one. If your skins excessively oily in your facial area it could be because you are using a poor quality soap that's highly alkaline. By washing too much you may be stripping away the skins natural oil, forcing it to produce more.&lt;br /&gt;I wash my skin once a day. I often see others recommending washing the skin up to three times daily. Washing this much is incredibly excessive for those of us with sensitive skin.&lt;br /&gt;6. &lt;em&gt;Pure Aloe Vera&lt;/em&gt; - the absolute best moisturizer. If you've ever had a severe sunburn you would know not to take a very hot shower. Don't consider your psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis to be any less severe than sunburn.&lt;br /&gt;If you find yourself in a situation where you're in terrible pain from skin lesions this may help. Before I found my psoriasis cure I used Fruit Of The Earth® Aloe Vera 100% Gel. This is the closest thing to a pure moisturizer that you will find. While I don't need this anymore because my psoriasis is gone, it helped tremendously when my psoriasis was very painful.&lt;br /&gt;7. &lt;em&gt;Natural&lt;/em&gt;. Most commercial "soaps" today are really detergents loaded with chemicals that irritate the skin and upset it's natural balances. I only use and recommend hand-made soaps or very mild cleansers. The best place to find these hand-made soaps and cleansers are alternative medicine retailers, health food stores and the internet.&lt;br /&gt;The skin is no different than life in that you need balance to be at peace with yourself. You need effective solutions that will not cause extreme side effects. If you want to see an example of extreme un-balance examine chemo therapy. Do you want to look and feel better than you have in years ? Maybe better than you ever have before? Do you want to protect yourself from disease and injury? And do you want to live a longer, more vital life?&lt;br /&gt;I'm confident that you answered YES! to each of those questions, just as the hundreds of individuals I've counseled, coached, and trained in my career as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Rehabilitation Specialist.&lt;br /&gt;I'm now going to reveal to you the 16 essential strategies that have enabled my clients to achieve the health and fitness goals they always wanted!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;16 Essential Weight Loss and Fitness Strategies&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;1. In the beginning, your fitness program should not be overly aggressive. One of the biggest problems people encounter when starting a fitness program is rapidly depleted motivation after only a few weeks due to an overly ambitious fitness program. Attempting to do too much too fast is worse than doing nothing at all! Because then you feel like exercise is too hard and it's just not for you.&lt;br /&gt;Start out slow, maybe just shooting for 1 or 2 workouts a week. Once you have successfully added that to your normal routine, then attempt to slowly add to your fitness program. Plus, most people don't need to exercise more than 3-4 times a week. That doesn't mean you can't exercise more; it's just not necessary.&lt;br /&gt;2. Always have a detailed plan! In order to reach your health and fitness goals, you must have a road map to follow. I can't stress this enough. If you are unsure of how to put together a fitness plan, or if you're uncertain of the effectiveness of the one you have, I highly recommend you consult a professional fitness trainer. With a well thought out plan you are much more likely to be successful!&lt;br /&gt;3. Set realistic, attainable goals. You must have tangible, quantifiable, short and long-term goals so you can measure and assess your progress. Too many people have totally unrealistic expectations of what to expect from an exercise and nutrition program. The best way for you to understand what is realistic and attainable is to talk with a fitness professional - not to buy into the "hype" of infomercials and diet and fitness products that are blatantly misleading.&lt;br /&gt;4. Keep a journal! This is one of the most important things you can do. If you're not tracking what you're doing, how will you know what worked? There are quite a few great exercise and nutrition logs I've come across. You should keep track of all your exercise and also each day's food intake.&lt;br /&gt;There's a company called NutraBiotics that makes a great 90-day journal that can be used to track strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and daily nutrition. Set exercise appointments with yourself if you're not working with a personal fitness trainer. Use your appointment book to set aside times for exercise, just like you do for meetings or events. Don't let things get in the way. Nothing is more important than your health! If you don't have your health you can't effectively do anything. I often have mothers tell me that they can't find time to exercise because they have to take care of their children. I have 4 daughters myself, and a baby on the way, so I know exactly how hard it is. Whatever your situation is, making the commitment to exercise and your health IS possible, and very important. Plus, it sets a great example for the children!&lt;br /&gt;6. Remember the benefits of exercise. Being physically fit affects every aspect of your life: you sleep better, eat better, love better, overcome stress better, work better, communicate better, and live better! Remember how good it feels to finish a workout, and how great it feels to meet your goals!&lt;br /&gt;7. Exercise safely and correctly. So much time is wasted doing, at best, unproductive exercise, or at worst, dangerous exercise. Educate yourself on how to exercise correctly. The best way to do that is to hire a personal fitness trainer. It could be for just a few sessions to learn the basics, or it could be for a few months to learn everything. It's completely up to you. But statistics prove that those who understand how to exercise correctly get better, faster results. And that's what you want, right?&lt;br /&gt;8. Enjoy your exercise! For example, if you hate doing strength training, try to find ways to make it more enjoyable. Circuit training might be a more fun and exciting way to fit this important part of fitness into your program. The key is you should enjoy it, and if you don't you need to look for other exercises or activities to replace whatever it is you don't enjoy.&lt;br /&gt;If you don't enjoy it, how do you expect to stick with it?&lt;br /&gt;9. Make time to stretch! It has so much benefit and takes very little time. So many people suffer from various aches and pains of which most can be eliminated by basic stretches! Try to spend at least 5 minutes after each workout stretching. Don't think you need to exercise 5 days a week! I touched on this earlier. Many people feel they're getting fat because they're not exercising. Totally not the case! Exercise is not the answer! It's all in your eating habits. However, exercise can aid in burning body fat, plus there are numerous health benefits. Think of exercise as a bonus.&lt;br /&gt;How many people do you know who exercise 3-5 times per week, but still fail to meet their weight loss and fitness goals? I've met hundreds!&lt;br /&gt;First look at your eating habits, such as: when you eat, what you eat, how much you eat, where you eat, and how often you eat.&lt;br /&gt;11. Never skip breakfast, or any meal! If you want to maximize your fitness or fat-loss efforts you've got to eat breakfast! So many people skip breakfast, and it's the worst thing you could ever do when it comes to fat-loss. Skipping meals throws your blood sugar all out of whack and it sets you up to store your next meal as fat, almost guaranteed!&lt;br /&gt;12. Eat fat to lose fat. Healthy fats are necessary to your body for numerous reasons: regulating hormonal production, improving immune function, lowering total cholesterol, and providing the basics for healthy hair, nails, and skin.&lt;br /&gt;The key is to eat the right types of fats. The "good' fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats like olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, and avocados, to name a few. The "bad" fats are partially hydrogenated oils, and trans fats. Most processed foods contain large amounts of these bad fats. Yes, I know that you have probably heard this one over and over again. But there's a reason for that ? it's that important! The recommended daily intake of water is 8 glasses, or 64 oz. You should even be drinking even more if you are active or exercise regularly.&lt;br /&gt;And no, soda, juice, coffee, and tea DON'T count! Nearly every chemical process place in your body, takes place in water! Proper blood flow and digestion are both affected by how much water you drink, and poor blood flow and digestion can be linked to numerous health conditions.&lt;br /&gt;14. Stabilize your blood sugar! If you want to burn fat and prevent your body from putting it back on, you must stabilize your blood sugar. In order to do this you need to eat small, balanced meals or snacks every 2-3 hours.&lt;br /&gt;Fasting, skipping meals, and overly restrictive diets will enable you to lose weight ? in the short run. The weight you lose is primarily water weight and muscle tissue, and in the long run has opposite effect of what you want. When you restrict your diet, your body instinctively thinks it's being starved and shifts into a protective mode by slowing down the metabolism and storing nearly all calories as body fat. Plus, losing muscle tissue is the last thing you want to do. Muscle burns calories, even while you sleep. You should be focused on increasing, or at least maintaining muscle tissue.&lt;br /&gt;15. Focus on increasing muscle tissue. As I mentioned previously, muscle burns calories, so if you want to increase your metabolism, you have to increase your muscle. The best way to do that is with progressive strength training. That doesn't mean you have to join a gym, buy expensive fitness equipment, or follow some bodybuilding workout program; it simply means you need to challenge your muscles! You can do that at home in just 15-20 minutes, 2-3 times a week.&lt;br /&gt;16. Get the help of an expert! Obviously, meeting your health and fitness goals is important to you, so why not eliminate the guesswork and start seeing the results you have always wanted? With the help of a qualified professional you can!&lt;br /&gt;If your car breaks down, where do you take it? Mechanic, right? How about if you have a cavity? Dentist. So why is it that so many people attempt to solve their health and fitness problems without consulting an expert?
