Acai Berry From The Amazon Is Taking The World By Storm!

The benefits from eating healthy are endless. And, according to Dr. Nicholas Perricone, some foods can be eaten to help you look and age better! At the top of the list is the acai fruit from the Amazon forest. This little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world. It can often be found in juice form in health food and gourmet stores.
A previously little-known fruit harvested from the Brazilian rainforest is now gaining recognition for its high levels of the cholesterol-fighting fatty acids, Omega 6 and Omega 9, and its strong concentration - up to 33 times that found in red wine grapes - of anthocyanin, a powerful anti-oxidant.
The acai berry is especially noteworthy for the antioxidant properties afforded by its concentration of anthocyanin - which is also present in red wine - that prevents oxidants from harming connective tissue while repairing damaged proteins in blood vessel walls. This helps explain the "French Paradox." The French, who are noted wine drinkers, have one of the lowest incidences of heart disease of any westernized society despite a diet high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
Monavie Direct, a network marketing company started in 2004, is experiencing rapid growth. The company was formed to market a wellness product, the Acai Amazon Berry, in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. With 10 times the antioxidants of grapes and twice the antioxidants of blueberries, the Brazilian Acai berry is considered to have the best nutritional value of any fruit on earth.
With each bottle of MonaVie purchased, a portion of your proceeds will be donated to help preserve the Amazon rainforest. MonaVie's roots are entrenched in the Amazon. The Amazon is a region of superlatives: it spans the borders of eight countries; it is the world's largest river basin and the source of one-fifth of the Earth's freshwater; it has the world's highest diversity of birds and freshwater fish; it is the planet's largest and most luxuriant rainforest in which, amazingly, live more than one third of all species in the world. Despite its natural richness, the Amazon ecosystem is fragile and in peril.

Make a Difference in the World. Drink Life? Drink MonaVie?

7 Tips For Beautiful Skin

For most women, part of their morning and evening routines involve a skincare regimen of applying creams, moisturizers, tonics, lotions, and the like. Why do women put themselves through this? To combat the signs of aging, and to maintain youthful looks and beautiful skin! However, how many women consider what is in the products they are using?
Some women probably do not realize that what they are putting on their skin may actually be undermining what they are trying to prevent to begin with. In fact the average woman puts twelve products on her skin daily, most of which maintain harmful chemical preservatives. Dr. Myron Wentz, founder and chairperson of USANA Health Sciences has this to say about beauty in the June/July 2005 issue of the "USANA Health Sciences" magazine: "Some say that beauty is only skin deep. Nonsense! I believe that true beauty is a reflection of true health, and true health begins deep inside each and every cell in the body. But true health and true beauty have an outer component, which is why we require protection from environmental insults such as solar radiation, pollutants in our environment and the drying effects of air. . . The fact is, you simply cannot contain a healthy body if your skin isn't healthy. And your skin can't be healthy if your are subjecting it to toxic substances that are ultimately absorbed into your body."
So, what can women do? How can they combat environmental pollutants, the affect of solar radiation, and the drying effects of air? How can they be sure they are using the very best products on their skin so they can be healthy inside and out?
Here are 7 tips to assist in this process:
1. Be very aware of what is in skincare products. Use products that are all natural as much as possible.
2. Look for products that contain Dermal Surface Renewal Technology. DSR smoothes away existing signs of aging such as laugh lines, crows feet, and dullness.
3. Use products that have regenisomes. Regenisomes penetrate the skin to speed cell renewal after sun exposure. They also use the light of photosomes to undo sun damage, and have ultrasomes to renew skin while sleeping.
4. Find products with Proteo-C and Proflavonol-T. These two vitamins protect the skin from premature aging caused by the sun, pollution, and other environmental factors. They also provide advanced nutrition to the skin to keep it appearing smooth and firm.
5. If possible, use products that are paraben free. Parabens are synthetic chemical preservatives that are widely used in personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, make-up, facial masks, skin lotions and creams, and deodorants. They also are typically found in baby lotions, shampoos, and other personal care products for infants and children. In addition, parabens are in many foods and pharmaceutical products. Researchers are beginning to find parabens in benign and malignant human breast tumors. While some studies have challenged their toxicity in many products and question their long term affect on humans, using products that are paraben free can eliminate the risk of exposure to this harmful chemical.
6. Drink plenty of water! Water hydrates skin and hair as well as flushes toxins out of the body.
7. Limit stress or learn to manage it effectively. Stress is harmful both emotionally and physically. Find that stress reliever activity that works best and use it on a daily basis!

Follow the above 7 tips to true beauty and health. Monique Hawkins is an associate with USANA Health Sciences. One of her passions is supporting and encouraging others to maintain optimal health and wellness. She also has recently started an online store selling music boxes. 5 Diy Anti-aging Tactics

Do you want your life story to be a long and joyous one, without having every line written on your face? Yes, we all do! Is there anyone who doesn't want to look as good as they can, for as long as they can?
While there are some very quick fixes such as, minor to major cosmetic surgeries, there are some less extreme measures that you can use to look and feel younger on a daily basis.

(1) Check your attitude!
How do you feel about life? Is your life going the way you want it to? Do you take responsibility for what you have created, good or bad? How about accepting who you are?
Be grateful for what you have, family, friends, a job etc. Then do an assessment of the things you want to change, if any. Watch your self-talk, if you wouldn't say those things to others, don't say them to yourself!
Be aware of why you want to make any change in your life. It must be something you have committed to, else you will most likely fail and add one more reason to criticize yourself.

(2) Know your nutritional needs!
What you eat has a huge impact on how you look and feel. The foods you eat help make and maintain soft, smooth, glowing skin. Wrinkle free skin is important in any anti-aging effort.
The recommended daily food requirements are good guidelines, but you must know how to balance your food intake to keep your body performing at its best. At any given age, we might need to boost specific nutrients or hormones. Get regular checkups! Eat fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks, instead of over-processed manufactured "fast foods".
Try not to rush your meals. When food is not given enough time to be digested properly, it becomes a burden on your body, causing unneccessary wear and tear and premature aging!

(3) Take timeouts!
When was the last time you had some fun? A good laugh? If you cannot remember, it's been too long! Even if you must laugh at yourself, find something to laugh about. Old photos, old clothes you've kept that you will never wear again, find something, anything.
What about pampering? Done anything special for yourself lately? A facial, or manicure? In -home or at a salon, it doesn't really matter. It's the time you spend just focusing on yourself that will make you feel special and cared for. We all need that!

(4) Be interested and interesting!
Yes, we are all short on time, we are busy people, but you must make time to be interested in others, your community, the world. You will find that is the only way to be interesting yourself. Learn something new, a language, a new style of cooking or dance. Learn about a culture that's different than your own. Ageless, interesting individuals always seem to want to know more about life. Try not to pry or judge, just be open to sharing opinions and knowledge.

(5) Groomimg is ageless!
When did you last update your looks? A new hair style or wardrobe is a very effective anti-aging tactic. Today there are so many flattering styles of dressing, everyone of us can find one that works perfectly for us. Subtle changes in hair coloring can make you look years younger.
Lose a few pounds if you need to. There is a diet that will work for you. Find skin care that's right for your skin type. Take care of your nails and teeth. Beautiful well cared for hands is a must for you, if you want to appear younger!
Anti-aging is more a matter of making the most of what you have, than the sporadic and temporary results gained by invasive and expensive surgeries. Agelessness is more about maintenance over the long-term than any qick fixes. Meaningful beauty is not just smooth skin (which is nice) but it is also an outlook on life, your life.
Treat yourself and others with respect. Balance your physical, emotional and spiritual life. No one else can or will do it for you! Get rest when you need it, play when you have the opportunity. Own your emotions, accept responsiblity for your actions, apologise for your mistakes, give and accept praise gracefully.

One of the best ways to anti-age yourself is to not only look good, but to be pleasant and interesting to be around! 16 Tips To Looking & Feeling Great

Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Do you want to look and feel better than you have in years ? Maybe better than you ever have before? Do you want to protect yourself from disease and injury? And do you want to live a longer, more vital life?
I'm confident that you answered YES! to each of those questions, just as the hundreds of individuals I've counseled, coached, and trained in my career as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Rehabilitation Specialist.
I'm now going to reveal to you the 16 essential strategies that have enabled my clients to achieve the health and fitness goals they always wanted!

16 Essential Weight Loss and Fitness Strategies
1. In the beginning, your fitness program should not be overly aggressive. One of the biggest problems people encounter when starting a fitness program is rapidly depleted motivation after only a few weeks due to an overly ambitious fitness program. Attempting to do too much too fast is worse than doing nothing at all! Because then you feel like exercise is too hard and it's just not for you.
Start out slow, maybe just shooting for 1 or 2 workouts a week. Once you have successfully added that to your normal routine, then attempt to slowly add to your fitness program. Plus, most people don't need to exercise more than 3-4 times a week. That doesn't mean you can't exercise more; it's just not necessary.
2. Always have a detailed plan! In order to reach your health and fitness goals, you must have a road map to follow. I can't stress this enough. If you are unsure of how to put together a fitness plan, or if you're uncertain of the effectiveness of the one you have, I highly recommend you consult a professional fitness trainer. With a well thought out plan you are much more likely to be successful!
3. Set realistic, attainable goals. You must have tangible, quantifiable, short and long-term goals so you can measure and assess your progress. Too many people have totally unrealistic expectations of what to expect from an exercise and nutrition program. The best way for you to understand what is realistic and attainable is to talk with a fitness professional - not to buy into the "hype" of infomercials and diet and fitness products that are blatantly misleading.
4. Keep a journal! This is one of the most important things you can do. If you're not tracking what you're doing, how will you know what worked? There are quite a few great exercise and nutrition logs I've come across. You should keep track of all your exercise and also each day's food intake.
There's a company called NutraBiotics that makes a great 90-day journal that can be used to track strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and daily nutrition. If you would like more information on this journal, please feel free to call me at 240-731-3724.
5. You must be accountable! Set exercise appointments with yourself if you're not working with a personal fitness trainer. Use your appointment book to set aside times for exercise, just like you do for meetings or events. Don't let things get in the way. Nothing is more important than your health! If you don't have your health you can't effectively do anything. I often have mothers tell me that they can't find time to exercise because they have to take care of their children. I have 4 daughters myself, and a baby on the way, so I know exactly how hard it is. Whatever your situation is, making the commitment to exercise and your health IS possible, and very important. Plus, it sets a great example for the children!
6. Remember the benefits of exercise. Being physically fit affects every aspect of your life: you sleep better, eat better, love better, overcome stress better, work better, communicate better, and live better! Remember how good it feels to finish a workout, and how great it feels to meet your goals!
7. Exercise safely and correctly. So much time is wasted doing, at best, unproductive exercise, or at worst, dangerous exercise. Educate yourself on how to exercise correctly. The best way to do that is to hire a personal fitness trainer. It could be for just a few sessions to learn the basics, or it could be for a few months to learn everything. It's completely up to you. But statistics prove that those who understand how to exercise correctly get better, faster results. And that's what you want, right?
8. Enjoy your exercise! For example, if you hate doing strength training, try to find ways to make it more enjoyable. Circuit training might be a more fun and exciting way to fit this important part of fitness into your program. The key is you should enjoy it, and if you don't you need to look for other exercises or activities to replace whatever it is you don't enjoy.
If you don't enjoy it, how do you expect to stick with it?
9. Make time to stretch! It has so much benefit and takes very little time. So many people suffer from various aches and pains of which most can be eliminated by basic stretches! Try to spend at least 5 minutes after each workout stretching. For more information on stretching and how it eliminates aches and pains, please call 240-731-3724 to request a FREE copy of my special report "No More Back Pain".
10. Don't think you need to exercise 5 days a week! I touched on this earlier. Many people feel they're getting fat because they're not exercising. Totally not the case! Exercise is not the answer! It's all in your eating habits. However, exercise can aid in burning body fat, plus there are numerous health benefits. Think of exercise as a bonus.
How many people do you know who exercise 3-5 times per week, but still fail to meet their weight loss and fitness goals? I've met hundreds!
First look at your eating habits, such as: when you eat, what you eat, how much you eat, where you eat, and how often you eat.
11. Never skip breakfast, or any meal! If you want to maximize your fitness or fat-loss efforts you've got to eat breakfast! So many people skip breakfast, and it's the worst thing you could ever do when it comes to fat-loss. Skipping meals throws your blood sugar all out of whack and it sets you up to store your next meal as fat, almost guaranteed!
12. Eat fat to lose fat. Healthy fats are necessary to your body for numerous reasons: regulating hormonal production, improving immune function, lowering total cholesterol, and providing the basics for healthy hair, nails, and skin.
The key is to eat the right types of fats. The "good' fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats like olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, and avocados, to name a few. The "bad" fats are partially hydrogenated oils, and trans fats. Most processed foods contain large amounts of these bad fats. For more information on the different types of fats, please call 240-731-3724 to request a FREE copy of my Healthy Eating Guidelines.
13. Drink plenty of fresh, clean water. Yes, I know that you have probably heard this one over and over again. But there's a reason for that ? it's that important! The recommended daily intake of water is 8 glasses, or 64 oz. You should even be drinking even more if you are active or exercise regularly.
And no, soda, juice, coffee, and tea DON'T count! Nearly every chemical process place in your body, takes place in water! Proper blood flow and digestion are both affected by how much water you drink, and poor blood flow and digestion can be linked to numerous health conditions.
14. Stabilize your blood sugar! If you want to burn fat and prevent your body from putting it back on, you must stabilize your blood sugar. In order to do this you need to eat small, balanced meals or snacks every 2-3 hours.
Fasting, skipping meals, and overly restrictive diets will enable you to lose weight ? in the short run. The weight you lose is primarily water weight and muscle tissue, and in the long run has opposite effect of what you want. When you restrict your diet, your body instinctively thinks it's being starved and shifts into a protective mode by slowing down the metabolism and storing nearly all calories as body fat. Plus, losing muscle tissue is the last thing you want to do. Muscle burns calories, even while you sleep. You should be focused on increasing, or at least maintaining muscle tissue.
15. Focus on increasing muscle tissue. As I mentioned previously, muscle burns calories, so if you want to increase your metabolism, you have to increase your muscle. The best way to do that is with progressive strength training. That doesn't mean you have to join a gym, buy expensive fitness equipment, or follow some bodybuilding workout program; it simply means you need to challenge your muscles! You can do that at home in just 15-20 minutes, 2-3 times a week.
16. Get the help of an expert! Obviously, meeting your health and fitness goals is important to you, so why not eliminate the guesswork and start seeing the results you have always wanted? With the help of a qualified professional you can!
If your car breaks down, where do you take it? Mechanic, right? How about if you have a cavity? Dentist. So why is it that so many people attempt to solve their health and fitness problems without consulting an expert? I don't know exactly, but I encourage you to make the investment in yourself- in your life- by hiring a professional to educate you and help you meet your goals.
So there you have it. The 16 essential strategies for an effective weight loss and fitness program that will have you looking and feeling great!

An Intimate Approach To Beauty

An Intimate Approach to Beauty
In this article we return to a time when beauty was defined in natural terms. An almost time-forgotten sensual approach to self-care, with simple rituals that will pamper you from the inside out. Where beauty was within every woman and man's reach and where sometimes, just sometimes less is more.

Dare to be Bare
From time to time leave your skin bare. No make-up, foundations or facial care products that contain chemicals.
Know your Skin
Maintaining your skin's moisture balance is essential for overall skin health. However, generally, moisturizers do not replace the essential water needed in skin cells. It is therefore important to leave your skin damp to help your moisturizer or cream penetrate deeper into your skin. If your skin is oily, you may discover that you do not even need a moisturizer. Even acne prone individuals should not over-wash their skin. Dry skin can actually make the condition worse. Furthermore, most cleansers and toners with alcohol tend to dry the skin, creating the sensation of needing a moisturizer.
Something as simple as drinking more water will help your skin, nails, your whole well being feel better. All natural, soaps should also be an important element in your skin care regime. These handcrafted soaps maintain its glycerin, which is a water-binding agent. Water-binding agents keep water in the skin, which aids skin damaged by sun and dehydration.

Good Cleansing
Soaps and scrubs should not strip the natural moisture from the skin; instead, these products should help the skin to find its balance as well as enhance your skin's natural inner glow. The ideal formulation should help to hydrate the skin so that during cleansing your skin can absorb adequate molecules of water into the cells. Organic Oats Honey Lavender Facial Scrub is a classic quartet for the face. Its formulation contains organic oats to gently slough off dead skin cells, organic honey to nourish the skin while organic lavender essential oil helps to reduce inflammation.

Create a Bathing Ritual
Water has a healing power for many of us. Just the thought of the vast expanse of clear blue water will tend to relax the inner you. Creating a bathing ritual can offer you the same many physical and mental benefits.
Even cool summer baths can let a fresher you emerge. Surround yourself with nothing but soft candlelight, soothing sounds of nature and sink deep into cool relaxation. Select Citrus bath fizzy to sharpen the senses and restore energy or Lemongrass bath fizzy to relieve exhaustion and fatigue.

The Healing Power of Touch
Include a full-body massage with warm oil to your bathing ritual. A body massage can help to increase the firmness of the skin and can even reduce physical and mental fatigue.
A warm Spirit Body Oil will help lift your spirits and nourish the layers of your skin. Spirit Body oils are nothing more than pure plant oils that purify the skin; enhance the complexion and make you feel more attractive.
A Natural Perspective is "The Place" for natural, holistic and organic skincare products. It sources different skin care products with an emphasis on promoting your well-being. A Natural Perspective brings you all-natural beauty products especially formulated to help bring back your skin to its beautiful, natural balance. You will feel the difference!

Achieve Great Beauty Naturally And Win The Fight Against Aging

I usually smile with gratitude when friends (and even strangers) sincerely guess my age to be 15 years younger. When they learn the truth about my fight against aging, they take notes and become converts. Yes, just like that!

Taking Care
The fight to extend human life is nothing new, and as we all know, people resort to various means to achieve this battle: from cutting out irresponsible habits to going under the scalpel. Scientists keep making significant discoveries and how best we can keep our body youthful and even reverse the aging process.
One denominator of these countless research is this: be aware of the changes affecting your body. As you grow older, it is important to be aware of the changes affecting your body. This is inevitable.
You need to know how to prevent problems occurring and how to respond to them should they surface.
Taking responsibility for your own natural health and well-being gives you a great self-confidence and makes you feel you are in control of events.
For example, you respond to your body when you suddenly feel thirsty and take the appropriate healthy drink, such as a glass of water.
You exercise regularly and know the level of your fitness; you take plenty of fruits and vegetables, simply said, you are conscious of what is happening within and without your body.
The implication of taking care is simply translated to your psyche. Your mind is settled in the fact that doing the right things keeps your energy levels up and this makes you feel younger and stress levels are kept at the barest minimum.
Controlling simple things that happen to your body will go a long way to keep your body from aging quickly. For example, red meat may be tasty and delicious, yet, time and again it's been proven that a diet rich in red or processed meat can greatly increase the risk of bowel cancer. This is even worse, especially for those who have cut out fruits and vegetables from their menu.

Try This!
Do you smoke?
Cut it out for a week and see how you feel in your body. I can bet you, giving up that chimney-stuff will not only keep more money in your pocket, but it will also make your body younger, your skin radiant and your lungs livelier.

Do you stuff on red-meat burgers?
Exchange the burger for fish and see your youthfulness shoot through the roof! Not only will you be gaining an advantage over potential bowel-cancer-causing processed meat, but you will be reducing your levels of "bad" fat intake and increasing your "good" fat intake.

Do you take alcohol?
Substitute your alcohol intake for ordinary water, or at best water with a hint of natural juice mixers. Do this for a week and you would be amazed and your energy levels and better health.
Friend, while trying these things, add the "Peruvian Ginseng" or maca to your dietary supplement, you would be amazed and the ease with which you will be able to give up these bad habits, especially if you take the supplements such as maca as you would take any food.
You can suck or chew it, instead of the cigarette or alcohol. Many of our customers say they love sucking it like candy instead of droping back into any bad habits and it has helped wean them over as well.

You Can Do This....
Anyone, and I mean YOU, can take a ten-minute brisk-walk a day. Not only would you burn off dangerous fat concealed under your skin, you would help dislodge the toxins lurking around in your body through the waste that would be generated from the simple exercise. If you make it a duty to take a ten-minute brisk-walk a daily, your body will start winning the fight for youthfulness.
Other things to take note of are the free radicals in the body. While oxygen is vital for life existence, it can also be its poison. Why? This is because when oxygen is used for essential processes inside the body, it leads to the production of damaging molecules known as free radicals.
The most damaging characteristic of free radicals is their chemical structure in that they contain an unpaired electron. This means that they roam around the body searching for healthy molecules to pair with. Unfortunately this pairing process damages the host molecule and irreversibly changes the DNA (material that carries genetic information).
If these free radicals are allowed damage to body cells like this over a long period of time, the result is extensive cell damage and aging, as well as diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, cataracts and cancer.
Finally, Friend, the excellent combination of natural health supplements such as the Booster's maca and Alive! goes a long way in the reduction of free radicals in your body.
